If there’s one thing I’ve learned over the past 19 years in business, it’s that personal growth and professional evolution go hand in hand. Every version of my business has been a reflection of who I was at that point in my life. And let me tell you, letting go of those outdated versions of myself wasn’t always easy—but it was absolutely necessary.
The Early Days: Building a Business Around Motherhood
When I first started out, I was a new mum, and my priority was clear: I didn’t want to miss a single moment of my child growing up. So, for three years, I built a business around that. I became a childminder, and it fit me like a glove. I’ve always been naturally caring, so working with children felt like a perfect match. But what surprised me was how much I loved the business side of it too.
Before I knew it, I was creating resources, business tracking tools, and guides to help others prepare for Ofsted visits. I even sold these on eBay! It wasn’t just about the childcare anymore; I was discovering this entrepreneurial spark within me.
Stepping into Spiritual Work
Alongside my childcare business, I was diving deeper into my spiritual path. I worked as a professional clairvoyant with some of the top names in the spiritual industry, and I loved it. But something didn’t sit right. I kept encountering clients who were really struggling with life, and I wanted to help them on a deeper level.
That’s when I decided to expand my skills. I trained in hypnotherapy, counselling, mindfulness, and meditation. This wasn’t just about adding tools to my toolkit—it was about becoming the person I needed to be to truly support the people who came to me. By the end of this phase, I launched my spiritual business, Spirit of the Bluebell. It thrived. I won multiple awards and built a loyal client base. I felt aligned… until I didn’t.
Overcoming the Burnout and the Breakthrough
In 2019, I transitioned my business online. It seemed like the logical next step, but something was off. I was operating from the wrong energy. Life piled on—personal losses, big changes, and years of putting myself last— I spun the plates for 3 years and then I found myself overwhelmed and burned out.
It was one of the hardest periods of my life. But here’s the thing: that burnout forced me to confront the outdated version of myself I was clinging to. The version that thought I had to do it all and be it all without ever pausing to check in with what I really needed.
Embracing the New Version of Me Soul Alignment
Now, I’m in a completely different space. I’ve stepped into a more grounded, holistic version of myself. I’ve learned to be pragmatic about my abilities—and just as importantly, my limitations. I know when to push forward and when to pause. I’ve found a balance between my spiritual work and practical action, and it’s transformed not just my business, but my entire life.
Letting Go Means More Than You Think
Here’s the truth: letting go of outdated versions of yourself isn’t just about changing careers or tweaking your business model. It’s about releasing old habits, beliefs, and expectations that no longer serve you. Sometimes, it means leaving people behind—relationships that no longer align with who you’re becoming. And sometimes, it means redefining your core values because life experiences have shifted your perspective.
For me, it was about recognising that my worth isn’t tied to how much I do or how many people I help. It’s about alignment, balance, and staying true to my path, not the one I thought I was supposed to follow.
Your Turn: Reflect and Realign
If you’re feeling stuck or overwhelmed, maybe it’s time to ask yourself:
What outdated version of myself am I still holding onto?
What beliefs, habits, or relationships no longer align with who I am becoming?
How can I embrace the next version of myself with grace and confidence?

Remember, every phase of your journey has a purpose. But don’t be afraid to shed what no longer serves you. The real magic happens when you let go—and make space for the next, more aligned version of you to step forward. Overcoming burnout & soul alignment in business isn't easy but learning how to let go of outdated versions of yourself leads to transformation, growth & success!
I believe in you and your journey trust in the process.
